Mitchell, Alexander, who has resided in Clark Co. for over 60 yrs., d. last
Sat. at the age of 75 yrs. (Mon., Oct. 11--S)

Mitchell, Orpha--Tampico news--d. at the residence of A.O. Beldon on Sun.
night last, of consumption. She leaves 2 sisters, 1 in English & Miss Polly
at the Insane house. Interment in the Russell Chapel burying ground. (Thurs.,
March 4--B)

Jones, Mattie, nee Mitchell, wife of James Jones, d. of consumption at the
family residence in English, Crawford Co., on Saturday. Previous to her
marriage, she resided in this place & made her home in the family of Frank
Burrell, Clerk of Jackson Circuit Court. Her age was about 29 years. He
husband & 1 child survive her. (Thurs., Nov. 17--B)

Mitchell, Calvin --was killed by the southbound J,M&I freight train this
morning. The remains were buried in the Crane cem., near the city, this
afternoon. (Wed., Aug. 29-D)

Mitchell, James --The 16yr. old son of Wm. Mitchell, of the Spraytown
neighborhood, d. Fri. of congestion of the stomach. (Tues.. July 10-D) Acme
news- James Mitchell d. at the residence of his father, about 2 miles NE of
Freetown, Thurs., July 5, aged 18 years. His remains were interred int he
Cem. here. (Wed., July 11--D)

Jones, George W. -- New Albany news -- a former Sheriff of this co., who
defaulted, deserted his family & fled with his hired girl to Canada, from
which place he returned in the fall of 1884, was found in the canal at
Louisville today. He had carried out his threat & committed suicide. (Mon.
March 22--S)

Jones, Oscar -- Tues. evening Oscar, the 10 yr. old son of John Jones, who
resides 4 miles below Columbus, was killed when a heavy tank fell off of a

Duckcreek, near Hartsville Crossing, sometime yesterday. (Mon., March 22--S)

Jones, William -- Brownstown new -- Wm. Jones, who resided on a farm 2 miles
SE of here, in a fit of despondency caused by dissipation & domestic
infelicity, committed suicide yesterday, by shooting himself. He leaves a
wife & several small children.

Mrs. John Oliger obit states she was the mother of Mrs. Helene Jones who
survive her (Mon., Oct. 31--D) Seymour.

Jones, Mandy--d. at the residence of her father on Dec. Dec. 18, of lung
disease. She had been married 6 yrs., but misfortune overtaking her, she
returned to her father's home in June. She leaves a father, mother, sis., 3
bros. & 1 child. (Thurs., Dec. 22--B)

Hawn, Son -- Last night Mrs. Isaac Hawn, who lives on the farm of Elder
Thomas Jones, near Little York, was walking in the yard at her home with her
4 yr. old son, when the child, in it's play, climbed a fence from which it
fell, striking the ground with such force that it's neck was broken, causing
instant death. Mrs. Hawn is a niece of Mrs. Jone, under whose care she grew
from infancy to womanhood. ( Wed., Aug. 29--D)

Jones, Chandriana--Conlogue news--Miss Chandriana Jones d. recently at her
home in Bartholomew Co., from the effects of a tumor of the liver & kidneys,
aged 25 years. (Tues., Jan. 24-- D)

Jones, Mrs. Will -- Clear Springs news ---d. at her home east of Clear
Springs last Friday. She leaves 2 children. (Thurs., May 10 -- B)

Shartell, Nancy -- Died at her home in Little York, July 25, of old age &
general debility, Mrs. Nancy Shartell, aged 77 years. She was b. in Ky .,
Jan. 23, 1811. She came to Washington Co. in 1828 & settled in the locality
where she died. Four children -- Elder Thomas L. Jones of Seymour, W.L. Jones
of Texas, and Mike H. & Geo. R. Jones, of Little York, survives her.

Singer, Baby --Mrs. P.A. Jones was notified by telegram yesterday, that the
baby of her bro., Morse B. Singer, of Driftwood twp., had just died. (Mon.,
