Hi, I'm new to the list. Was just in Jackson county 2 weeks ago taking pictures in cemeteries until bad weather chased us out. I'm trying to find some information on my 3rd gr-grandparents Dr. Eldad P. Reed and wife Nancy Woody Reed. I do have a picture of their headstone in Fairview Cemetery. They are listed on the 1880 census and lived there until 1902 when both of them died. They lived in Lawrence county before coming to Jackson. Eldad born in 1827, died July 25, 1902 and Nancy born 1826, died Aug. 1, 1902. The day I was in Brownstown, the Genealogical Society was closed and I couldn't find the library. Is there anyone doing research on this family? Also, seeing that they died close to a week apart, I was wondering if there was some kind of epidimic going around.
