I am looking for anyone with information on Jennie Shreeves (it may also be
spelled Shreaves) who married Spencer Logan of White County Indiana. Spencer
was born to William Logan and Rebecca Spencer probably in the late 1840s or
early 1850s as they were married in 1845.
I have no idea when Jennie was born..according to relatives she was born in
Vincennes,(probably between the late 1840s and 1860s) and when she was around
9 years old she was kidnapped from her front yard. The story goes that she
was forced by a man and his wife to work as a slave before she was eventually
rescued by a neighbor woman and her daughter. Jennie was then raised by
nuns. I have no idea how much, or if any of this is true, since I have not
been able to find out anything about Jennie.
