Regarding my earlier question about the submissions to World Family Tree.
I have downloaded some of those, and they went directly into the Family
Tree Maker program format. That's what made me think they were tied to
Broderbund FTM.

The Ancestry databases are completely different. It's called Ancestry
World
Tree and is a collection of databases submitted directly to Ancestry. They
comment on the web site: "This information will always be free of charge to
all who visit, for personal, non-commercial usebecause it has been
graciously
donated by visitors, like you." And such it should be.
