"I received your letter on the 20th and I thought I would not wait as
long as you did to answer. We are well. Mother was sick with chills
all winter until about 3 weeks ago. She got them broke and has got
tolerable well and heartt again.
"Aunt Betsy Fernsell was buried today. She was sick about a week with
Lung Fever. There has been a great deal of sickness here this winter.
Aunt Barbara Garber is here visiting with us. She had the Lung Fever
this winrer and is not very well yet but is on the mend now.
"We have had a severe winter and plenty of snow and snowing a little
today. But poor sledding. The wind has blowed the snow off the roads
when it fell and the sun melted it off.
"Elias was here last week. He is going to move on his old farm next
month. I guess you know he traded buildings on the farm and pays
Makemson rent. Pete Smith is still running a grocery and has a
shoemaker to work. He keeps some boots and shoes as well. Firestones
are all well now. Roselma had the Lung Fever this winter.
Nelson is here now. Well, I will come to a close for now. Goodbye to
all. Emanuel Fashbaugh
