Thanks. I had assumed that the photographers kept the plates used for making the CDVs. Of the 2 closest family members who died in the war, one can be ruled out completely, but the other is a possibility, age-wise. Since his birthmother died when he was 2 & his grandparents played a large role in raising him until their deaths, it may be him, wearing the civilian clothes of his older brother who was already in the army. I'll have to check his military record for his description, to see if he might be a fit.
