Elijah & Lucretia PIXLEY, early residents of Clearspring Twp., LaGrange
Co., IN had several children including Harriet Josephine PIXLEY who married
Jacob KERN, son of Isaac W. KERN of Noble Co., IN. A son of Elijah PIXLEY,
John S. PIXLEY, b. 1833-1834 in probably Union Co., IN; d. 26 Nov 1903
Clearspring Twp.; m. Louise, b. abt 1842 IN. I recently found the following
information:
1) Stevenson PIXLEY is listed in the 1850 census with parents Elijah &
Lucretia PIXLEY. John S. PIXLEY is not listed. Cannot locate Elijah PIXLEY
in 1860 census. Lucretia died in 1852, leaving husband with several small
children, so he may have lived with relatives.
2) 1880 census for LaGrange Co. shows John S. PIXLEY & Louise with ch:
Ida Dell DERE, b. abt 1868; Bell PIXLEY, b. abt 1870; Beaucy PIXLEY, b.
abt 1877; Minnie PIXLEY, b. 1879-1880.
2) Birth rec. for Female PIXLEY, b. 16 Feb 1884, dau. of J. Steven PIXLEY
& Ida Dell DERE.
-Are Stevenson PIXLEY, John S. PIXLEY, & J. Steven PIXLEY one & the same?
-Are the two Ida Dell DERE people one & the same?
-Was Ida DERE living with the family in one census rec. & then married
or had a child with J. Steven PIXLEY?
