Conrad Deal settled in Lagrange Co. in 1834 from Marion Co., OH. His father,
George Deal, came from Winchester, VA and his grandfather, Konrad Thiel/Deal
was a Hessian soldier captured at the Battle of Trenton, NJ, on Dec. 26, 1776
who remained in the US after the Revolutionary War.
