Subject: [INLAKE-L] Lake Co gets a NEW TOY!
Date: Tue, 27 Apr 1999 10:50:22 EDT

Hi all,
I am trying to find a way to make it easier to find people on the Lake Co
site...we are getting huge, and looking at all these little pages for just
one name could be a real pain to say the least. They could be on the
Historical Notes, Lake Co Firsts, one of the cemeteries, or on one of the
census pages.
Well, to attempt to make it easier on you all, I hooked up a search engine to
the site. It ONLY searches the Lake County site...not the Web. Keep in
mind-it's a freebie search engine and isnt 100% reliable. One goofy thing it
does is list pages twice when the word only shows up once on that page. If
you see a result that shows 1 page twice...it doesnt mean the word is on
there twice. Dont spend all day looking for the second appearance of the
word! :)
Example: I searched for Sigler and got 20 results, but I think the word
probably shows up about 12 times on the site:
12.LAKE COUNTY EARLY SETTLERS 12k
13.LAKE COUNTY EARLY SETTLERS 12k
14.LAKE COUNTY BIOGRAPHIES PROJECT15k
15.LAKE COUNTY BIOGRAPHIES PROJECT15k
16.1850 Census of Lake County, IN p.155A7k
17.[lk1840.txt] 1840 Census Index. 8k
18.[lk1840.txt] 8k
19.Lake County, Indiana Surnames V-W-X-Y-Z 11k
20.Lake County, Indiana Surnames V-W-X-Y-Z 11k

Try the search engine out , it's on the main
<A HREF="http://users.rootsweb.com/~inlake">Lake County GenWeb</A> page, and
let me know if it's a good resource for the web site. I am hoping so because
a lot of those little pages arent in the searchable archives.
