--On Ancestry.com I found Ada on the 1880 Cook county census, There were a
few James Merrill's in Cook county in various census years as well. There
were also listings in other records too. Here's Ada's info:
Year Surname Given Name (s)County State Page Township or Other Info Record
Type Database ID#
1880 MERRILL ADA Cook County IL 234 Chicago E. D. 9 Federal
Population Schedule IL 1880 Federal Census Index IL 201138988
--On Kindred Konnections there are 55 Ada Merrill's in their Ancestrial
Archive (Gedcoms), I checked 1865-1935.
You can search both of those sites from one page at:

I HAD a Merrill newsletter and surname site listed on my Firstmom's
Personal/Surname/Family sites page, but I tried going to it and apparently
she moved or went offline. She had just submitted the link to me a few months
ago. Wish people would tell me when they move!
Oyyy Just did the search on LDS, went to a site that had Merrill's and guess
what I found....the Merrill Family Newsletters new page! Hehe I'm running in
circles!

The lds site only turned up 10 personal websites for a query of Ada
Merrill..Mother Olive, father James Merrill.

You might also try the Merrill Genealogy Forum

Genealogy of Deane Merrill is a pretty big page too, though it seems most are
from MA.

Gendex has 6483 Merrills listed, but only 3 Ada's and they dont seem to match.

Surname Springboard had a couple Merrill listings:

Ok...seems like I did a bit of searching, but it wasnt that hard. You can
find all those searches and more at:

Yup! It's my site...but when I go looking for a new surname, my own page is
where I start. When I first created Firstmom's it was basically because I
kept losing my favorite places list on AOL and made a web page for all the
sites I went to a lot. Now it's grown into 2100+ links...but I still find my
way around it when I need something.
