I am new to this list and I was Born in Hammond, In. with the last name
Turner. I am searching for information on my grandmothers mother> Daisy
McGlaughlin. There was this man, I think his name was Fred. He owned this
house in Hammond Ind. He had told Daisy that she could live there free if
she would take care of him. She did for a very long time. Before that I
believe she was born in MI, because that is where my grandmother Frances
Louise McCallum was born. Daisy Brown was her birth name. She married a
man named James McCallum. I don't know if he died or they divorced, but
she later married a Nathan Oliver Smith. This man adopted Frances and her
siblings. Later on I think Nathan died and she married a Grant
McGlaughlin. One of the Frances sisters Mary McCallum Smith married a
man, name unknown and had a son Phillip. Mary died I think in an
automobile accident. Grandma Daisy took Phillip in and adopted him and
raised him. His name became Phillip McGaughlin. He is/was a
minister/evangelist who moved around preaching the gospel. I believe he
is living in Sparky Florida. If any of these names sounds familiar
contact me. I am willing to share what I have.
