I am surprised you had so many problems at the courthouse. Last year I went
there and did alot of marriage records research myself. They let me go back
into the room where the books are and look for myself. The only thing I
could not do is photocopy the information myself. After researching, I
filled out a form with the information I had found and left it with them
and, at their convenience (which was less than 2 weeks), they copied the
pages I requested and mailed them to me.
