I just received a Naturalization Record for Manuel Garcia Menendez my
husband's father. These people lived in Lake Co IN most of their
lives. There are many descrepancies on it including date of arrival.
He was a minor when he came here to America from Spain. I am looking
for his father Jose GARCIA GARCIA and his mother Josefina Teresa ALVAREZ
MENENDEZ. Because of the way Spanish use last names, it makes it
difficult to find their naturalization records. In America, the child's
name should have been GARCIA not MENENDEZ. I was suprised to find it
under MENENDEZ.

Dates of Arrival descrepancy:
April 12, 1918 on Petition for Naturalization
April 12, 1918 on Certificate of Arrival

April 12-14 1914 on a Handwritten note left in our possession by Manual
Garcia before he died in 1983.
ONLY Common agreeing thing between NOTE and NATURALIZATION papers is the
the ship was the SS Baltic.

I am looking in your county for Naturalization Records for Manuel GARCIA
MENENDEZ' parents Jose GARCIA GARCIA (in English Jose or Joseph) and
Josefina Teresa ALVAREZ MENENDEZ (in English could be Josephine ALVAREZ,
Josephine MENENDEZ, or more likely Josephine GARCIA) with only the above
dates of arrival and the following information. Can you HELP ME PLEASE?
