The Hammond Times Indiana Oct. 27, 1942 OBITS
WOLFE'S MOTHER DEAD IN CALIFORNIA
Mrs. Elizabeth Jane WOLFE, mother of Col Chester Paul WOLFE of Hammond, died yesterday
in her home at 330 Burton Court, Pasadena, Calif.
Mrs. Audrey GEYER, a daughter and two grand-daughters were at the bedside of the aged
woman. Death due to old age came suddenly.
Word of her passing was received by Harry M. WOLFE, a son in Chicago and Col. WOLFE.
They were endeavoring this afternoon to get airplane reservations to Calif. without success
and may be unable to attend the funeral.
Col. WOLFE saw his mother a week ago Monday, having flown to Pasadena to spend a week with
her. When he left she was apparently as well as in April when he paid her a visit.
He received a letter from her yesterday, written after his departure, which gave no indication
of the approaching end of her life.
Mrs. WOLFE was born in Knox County, Indiana.
She has one surviving sister: Mrs. Sadie LONE, 74, of Oak Tom, Indiana.
When she was past 80, Mrs. WOLFE made and laid away ther clothes in which she
will be buried.
