Bernard LITZ, better known as "Barnie" during his 35 years of service as a station attendant of the
Michigan Central Railroad in Hammond, will be buried tomorrow in St. Joseph's cemetery, following
services at the St. Joseph Church.
LITZ, who was born in Germany 76 years ago, died Saturday at his home, 5705 Erie Avenue, of a
heart attack. His health had been failing during the past year.
He came to Calumet City in 1884, lived there for 30 years, and during the past 21 years had resided
at his present address.
Survivors include his wife and three daughters:
Mrs. Anna ROACH of Hammond
Mrs. Mary SCHAU
Mrs. Josephine VOSS of Calumet City
Sons:
Bernard LITZ Jr.
Fred LITZ , both of Hammond
