EDWARD E. BUTTERFIELD
Edward Everett Butterfield, 82, National Health Enterprise Nursing Home
and former resident of 1316 Third street, died at 8:00 p.m. Monday at
National Health Enterprise. He had been ill several months.
He was a retired employee of the Bedford Foundry and Machine Company.
He was born in Salem January 15, 1819 (1891), son of Oscar and Johanna
Gorman Butterfield, and was twice married, first to Maggie Hart in early
life who died Nov. 20, 1926, and to Lola Lewis in 1929 who died in 1958.
Surviving are one stepson, Robert Lewis, Bedford; one stepdaughter, Mrs.
Russell (Mary Helen) Grove, Bedford; six step-grandchildren, five
step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Frank and Charles, a step-daughter, Delpha, and one
step-son, Spencer, precede him in death.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Bedford.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home,
Rev. Herman Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.
