Hi Fellow Listers, Just a suggestion - the Iowa list requires all emails to
be formatted so that the surnames a person is searching for are listed in
caps in the Subject line followed by the area and date if so desired. For
example:
Subject: BROUHARD/BISHOP; VA>OH>IN>IA 1795-1850
The advantage of this system is that those who belong to many lists and
receive hundreds of emails per week can easily sort through them and pick and
choose those that might be relevant. I am not suggesting that this list make
that format a requirement but I am suggesting that this is an effective way
to make sure that someone who is researching the same surnames as you are
will be sure to open your particular email. I have always enjoyed this list
and find the members extremely helpful and informative. It must be those
great mid-west genes. Take care all, Diane
