I am looking for any information on the family of William J. (Wild Bill) Johnson. On January 25, 1869 in Southern Indiana, he married my G Grandmother Mary Eveline Townsend after the death of my G Grandfather William Curtis Morgan. Together they had 3 children as follows.
Descendants of William J. Johnson
Generation No. 1
1. WILLIAM J. JOHNSON He married MARY EVELINE TOWNSEND January 25, 1869, daughter of SEYMORE TOWNSEND and SALLY MITCHELL. She was born September 24, 1840 in Indiana, and died October 16, 1901 in Arkansas.
More About MARY EVELINE TOWNSEND:
Burial: Arkansas
Marriage Notes for WILLIAM JOHNSON and MARY TOWNSEND:
Rev. Wesley Hartley officiated.
Children of WILLIAM JOHNSON and MARY TOWNSEND are:
i. GEORGE JOHNSON, m. BELL.
ii. HATTIE JOHNSON.
iii. DAISY JOHNSON.
I know that William J. and Mary Johnson left Indiana and moved to Arkansas as I have documentation placing them there in the 1890's and Mary died there in 1901. I believe the children returned to Indiana and lived in the Indianapolis and possibly Morgantown area after the death of Mary. I do not know if William returned to Indiana with them. I recall my father visiting "Aunt Bell" in Morgantown, Indiana in the mid 1950's. I believe she was the wife of George Johnson. This is all the information I have on this Johnson connection. If anyone connects to this family or has any knowledge of the George Johnson family of Morgantown, Indiana please contact me. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Don Coatney
