Now, I went back and tried to find John William/William John (?) with his parents in the 1850 and 1860 censuses. I found him (William – 11) listed in the household of a Henry Talbott in 1850 Orange Co., IN census…probably a sister, Malinda J. – 13, listed in the next household with a William Freeman and just a few pages over in the same twp., a Sarah Allegre 36 with children: Mary E., Emily C., Nancy, Robert, and Jane…. I think this may be his mother and siblings? There is only one other Allegree in the census…a Shadrach who is probably his uncle…he also had a son named William much younger.

William is still listed with the same family in the 1860 census of Orange Co., IN. I then checked the 1840 census and found 2 Allegree’s…Robert and Shadrach. The Shadrach is listed in the 1850 census…therefore I believe Robert is William’s father and the husband of Sarah. The 1840 census of Robert is:

Robert Alagay (looking at the image it could be Alagry) 21000100 10001000
This shows - males 2 0-5, 1 5-10 (Wm.) and 1 30-40. Females 1 0-5, and 1 20-30.

In the 1920 census, William is listed in the household of his daughter Rosa Stiles and is widowed. My suggestion is to check the Martin Co., IN death records for him and see if his parents names are listed. Hope this is a help.
