EX-FIRE CHEIF DEAD TODAY
Cron Thrasher Makes Most Unusual Request before Dying
That his body should be taken to Dr. Lowderss office for an autopsy, then
given to the University medical department to be dissected and finally
cremated, and the ashes scattered on the graves of his two children, was
the strange request made by Cron Thrasher, the ex-fire chief, who died at
10:30 last night. The young man died at the home of his father, Edward
Thrasher, at Maple and 3rd streets of Brights disease after being confined
to his bed only 4 days.
He was a decorator by trade and was engaged in painting in the courthouse
until last Wednesday when he went home sick. He felt that death was
inevitable and so told the family when he went home. He was 31 years old
and leaves a wife and one child, two have preceeded him to the grave. The
parents and two sisters, Hazel and Ona, survive him.
The deceased was a well known young man in this city and for some time at
the head of the fire department. Funeral is Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock in
charge of Rev. Martin.
