Mrs. Vienna L. Smith, wife of Jesse Smith, a prominent citizen and farmer
of Salt Creek Township, died yesterday morning at 1 o'clock from an attack
of typho-malarial fever complicated with hemorrhages. Mrs. Smith was 44
years old and the daughter of the late David Shields of the south part of
the county. She was a member of the Christian Church and a lady held in
high esteem by her acquaintances. She leaves a family consisting of
husband and four children.

The funeral will occur this morning from the late residence, and the
interment will be at the Knight's Cemetery.
