Shelvie Carter

Shelvie Carter, 83, of Rt. 4 Crawfordsville died at 9:15 p.m. Monday in
Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill. He had been a building contractor.
Mr. Carter was a member of the North Methodist Church at Indianapolis,
Ancient Landmark Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis.
Born March 22, 1891, in Harden County, Ky., he was the son of Cyrus and
Martha Schaudoan Carter. He was married to Mary Soey on Sept. 5, 1936 at
Jonesborro.
Surviving with the widow are two sons, Don of Crawfordsville and Walter
of Indianapolis, a daughter Mrs. Eleanora Earhart of Indianapolis, and
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three daughters, two brothers and seven
sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Houghton Funeral Home at
Georgetown, Ill., with the Rev. Ernest Hayden of Wayneton officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery near Quaker. Friends may call at the
funeral home.

A little added information for you. This may be your family in the 1880
Hardin county, Kentucky census. This may be 6 of the 7 sister's?? May be
