This is so confusing. This James P. Lewis and Elizabeth are too old to be the parents of John William Lewis, dob May 22, 1863. James would have been dead and Elizabeth would have been 64 when he was born. I vagely remember him and his death certificate says he died at the age of 79 on Jan. 9, 1943. The son, informant could have been wrong and these might be the names of John William's grandparents. The letter from my aunt that I mentioned earlier said he was raised by his mother and grandmother, she gave the siblings names and said that was all she knew, so she apparently didn't know her grandparent's names. John William Lewis's parent's place of birth on the death certificate are both stated unknown, this plus how little my aunt knew makes me think the family didn't talk much. There was also rumored to be a family secret.
Is there any other information, such as address of place of birth regarding James P. Lewis or Elizabeth Lewis, or maiden name for Elizabeth?
Regarding pictures of the tombstones, if they are available already to you, I would like to have them in case they are the right ones, but don't go out of your way to get the pictures as I don't know if this is the right family or not.
