A glimmer of hope???!!!!
Please give me more information on your Thompsons. You are the first
that I have seen that
may connect. We certainly seem to have a lot in common and hopefully a
fit...
My John and Mary (Martin) Thompson were both born in Belfast, County
Down, Ireland about 1818.
Immigrated to New York about February 1848-9. Were in Pennsylvania at
least til about 1852
where Robert was born. In Indiana by 1854 when son Hugh was born. They
lived in Greene, just
on the border of Owen (near New Hope). Most records are in Spencer,
Owen County as it was much
closer than the county seat in Bloomfield.
My John's father was said to be Hugh from Scotland. Here is my John's
family.
