I am researching an ancestor by the name of Austin
DAVIS, who last appears on the 1880 Census of Owen
Co., IN as a resident of the county home. He is
listed as aged 30, married, and "insane".

My question is, where would records of the home be
located, how would one have been 'committed' to the
county home during this time period, and if any one
else is researching this family?
