Just a couple of thoughts that might help you. There is an S22 in every
geographic township in the metes and bounds survey system. To locate where
in Parke Co Marmaduke lived, check to see also the Township and Range
numbers in the deed.
Marmaduke may have died in Parke Co. If so, there should be some kind of
probate record. Check the County Clerk's office with a request. If he
left no probate, although he should have, the children may have needed
guardians. Check the same office for guardianship records of the Barnes
children.
Lastly, see if you can find Marmaduke in a cemetery listing for Parke
Co. It's fairly early to have a good stone remaining but not impossible to
find.
Good luck!
