Rockville Tribune, September 12, 1934

"Mrs. Hattie Skeeters, 68, wife of William H. Skeeters, died at her home in Montezuma at 8:20 o'clock Friday night. Mrs. Skeeters suffered a stroke of paralysis several months ago and had been an invalid since that time.

Mrs. Skeeters was born June 12, 1866, at Freeville, N. Y., the daughter of Oliver and Mary Goodsell. When she was 9 years old she moved with her family to Indiana. Her marriage to Mr. Skeeters took place 44 years ago.

Surviving besides the husband are a son, Bert, and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Harriett of Montezuma, and a sister, Mrs. Luella Hixson of Terre Haute.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. A. L. Vermillion were held at the Methodist Church in Montezuma Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery."
