Margaret J. Shackelford
Mrs. Margaret J. Shackelford, whose critical illness was mentioned last week, died at her home in St. Joe, MO. Last Friday of paralysis at the age of 74. The body was brought to Rockville, arriving Monday morning, and taken to the home of Howard Maxwell, her nephew, where funeral services were conducted that afternoon, Dr. H.L. Nave officiating. The music was by W.J. White and daughter, Mrs. W.B. Thomson. Mrs. Shackelford is survived by her two sons, Frank H. and Warren, and sisters, Mrs. D.H. Maxwell of Rockville and Mrs. Wood Browning of Indianapolis. For many years Rockville was her home, Mr. Shackelford being a prominent dry good merchant of our town. Here they were married and brought up their family. She was of a quiet disposition, but a most excellent woman of the highest sense. Some 25 years ago the family moved to St. Joe, where the son Frank is now in business. Mrs. Shackelford was buried by the side of her husband, who preceded her in death eight years ag!
