I suspect you might be right about the reports, but I also suspect these
might have been done more thoroughly toward the turn of the
century. Wonder if the Department of Natural Resources would be the place
to inquire? If records were sent to the State and stored, they would be at
the Indiana State Archives depository.

I agree with your perspective on knowing as much as you can about
background. Never know what perspective you will gain.
