?? Newspaper – found in an old scrapbook in the Rockville Library – Ida May Thompson, daughter of Thomas B. and Nancy E. Thompson, was born in Parke County, Indiana July 16, 1868 and died in Battle Creek, Michigan October 8, 1908, aged 40 years 2 months 22 days. At the age of 16 she entered Earlham college, attending this school one year during which time she was converted and the following year joined the ME Church at Greencastle, having entered DePauw, continuing her studies at this school 3 years after which she completed a course in art, developing a remarkable talent for portrait painting and kindred work. Ida was of a truly religious disposition, taking a great interest in religious work and while a resident of Waveland, Indiana lead the Junior League of the Christian Endeavor. Truthful and frank at all times, she would scorn to shield herself from the consequence of any fault and as her mother says had never told her a falsehood in her life.
