We have John W. Noble b. ca 1834 in AL; m. ca 1856 MARY DUBARD; d ca 1865. Lived in Montgomery Co., TX near Walker Co., TX line. John W. Noble & MARY DUBARD had 3 children before he died, William N. NOBLE b. ca 1859, Bellemirah (aka Belleminah) NOBLE, and EMMA A. NOBLE NICHOLS b. 1863. Family tradition says John W. NOBLE died in the Battle of Galveston, was brought home in a wagon, and buried in Montgomery Co., TX, but place of burial is unknown and his death is undocumented as is enlistment in an Army company.
MARY DUBARD's family came from Dallas Co., AL. I wonder if the NOBLEs came from there too. Mary remarried, after JNW's death, Drayton D. ELLISOR and that family is well documented. Mary's ancestors were DUBBERTs, and they too are documented.
Son, William N. NOBLE m. BESSIE BENNICK 10 May 1889 in Montgomery Co., TX, but may have been married before that date to someone else, per family tradition.
Any clues on our NOBLEs? I'll be glad to share any hard copies I have.
