Subject: [INPARKE] Mt Olivet family histories needed
Date: Mon, 16 Feb 2004 20:01:32 -0500

Mt Olivet Cemetery Association was fortunate to receive a grant for
tombstone repair from the Parke Co Community Foundation. The board has
elected to put some of our funds with this grant to repair the 30 most
endangered or damaged tombstones in the cemetery. Most of these will be
among the oldest tombstones on the original hillside. A few will be in
Addition #1, the middle hill.

Now is the time to get family histories or descendancies to me, if you have
an ancestor who might be buried in these areas. The goal is to set back
into original location all the loose stones that have broken off and been
placed in a pile. Knowing who probably was next to whom will enable
swifter searching for broken off bases to reset the stones.

You may send me attachments. Please put in the header "Mt Olivet
family". Gedcom format is fine, or a Genreport from FTW if not too
long. Or just copy a descendancy or genreport into the body of a message
to me. You can tell from Carol Ealey's website which graves with oldest
death dates are likely to be on the original hill next to where the church
was. If we can get these family histories recorded, I think we can get
more tombstones repaired. Your assistance is requested, if you have
family, or know details about people, buried in the oldest and next older
sections.

Thanks for your help.

Sharon Mills, Sec'y
