I am seeking any information on Eli or Mary A Batten, who is listed in the 1860 and 1870 census in Adams twnshp, Parke, Indiana. My possible link is a female living in the household, Mary E Montgomery. I have the same name marrying my great grandfather (James P Daniel) in Parke County in 1876, but do not have any parental information. I am assuming that Mary A is Mary E's mother, and has remarried. Can anyone shed some light for me on this information? I can't find a marriage for Eli in Indiana at all through the library database provided online.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated...
