Trying to locate info on Isaac Denman, born 10 Nov 1795 (GA) and died in Parke Co. on 28 Aug 1875. Located him on the 1820 and 1830 censes, but he was listed as Isaac W. "Demmin," on the 1840 census of Parke Co., Indiana as the head of the household, and he was between the ages of 40 and 50. There were also three other males listed in the household without providing any names: one between 20 and 30, another between 5 and 10, and the third under 5 years of age. Also listed, but without any names, are seven females: one is assumed to be his wife, between 40 and 50, three are between 10 and 15, and the last three between 5 and 10. For the males this might account for John Denman, age 8 in 1840, and his younger brother, "I.W.," age 6, but who is the other male who is between 20 and 30? There are several possibilities: this might be a brother of either Isaac or his wife, Rachel Crawford who was temporarily living with them (and perhaps with some daughters?) or this might be thei!
r eldest son who might have been married and living on his own by the next census. Similarly, as his daughter America was not born until 1841, and we know he had three daughters by 1830, these six females were probably daughters all of who were possibly married or dead by the 1850 census. Perhaps the three youngest girls were daughters of the unknown male, age 20 to 30, or, more probably his daughters by a second wife?
