Texas case law holds that no recent burials and neglected graves do not
establish abandonment. As long as the buried "awaken sacred memories in
the living" no abandonment can occur. I guess that's the trouble with us
foreigners commenting on Indiana cemetery terminology, one word can mean
many different things to different people and state to state there are
obviously many varying contexts that affect how these words are used. Glad
to broaden my horizons!
