Hi - this is Judith Sandage Murphy (aka Judy M.)
First let me clear something up -- I did NOT step down but was booted
off of being the county coordinator by the Indiana county's
coordinator and her assistant and told that my site was "garbage"
and "filled with garbage" -- I had supported the Perry Co, IN USGenWeb
Project since it's beginning (first county coordinator for 5 of
Indiana counties, and Perry Co, IN was one of them). It was NOT
because of illness either -- I have supported this through multiple
illnesses and even caring for my husband while he was dying, and after
his subsequent death. When I started having some email problems
(problem was with my erinet and corecomm, not me) I was booted within
2 weeks [even though during those two weeks I had talked via email to
both the new state coordinator and her assistant] ... I was kindly
informed via "snail mail" that I had "been replaced" -- wasn't even
asked. But that is neither here nor there because the webpages I
originally had for Perry Co, IN WILL CONTINUE BEING ON THE WEB (as
soon as I finish going through each and every one of the literally
thousands of webpages I had created, removing any indication that I am
the county coordinator still, and making sure they did not show that I
was afiliated anymore with the USGenWeb and INGenWeb Projects.
Because of this [and all the hard work I did in the past 8 years of
making up the pages, transcribing census, birth, deaths, marriages,
etc. and getting photos and other information out to the researchers
(and LITERALLY visitors AROUND THE WORLD who have Perry Co, IN
ancestors)] I will continue having all of the previous webpages for
Perry Co, IN still on the web (as soon as I finish removing all traces
of being afiliated with the USGenWeb and INGenWeb Projects). [You
would not BELIEVE where some of the descendant researchers are living
this year -- including Belgium, Russia, India, Sri Lanka, Africa,
Alaska, etc....]
You can find the Perry Co, IN webpages (the old ones) at:
http://www.usroots.com/~jmurphy/perry/perry.htm
This is the same address as before except they changed it from
usroots.com to rootsweb.com although I PAY to usroots, and it just
isn't linked off the main Indiana USGENWEB Project's main page.
If there is a specific page that isn't coming up (probably because I
haven't returned it to the server) let me know at
and I will be sure to check that one out first and get it back on the
server quickly.
I just wish the best to the new county coordinator, Linda Lang (hmmm
any relation to superman's galfriend? (smile)) and hope she doesn't
have the same problems I did. Please support her in every way
possible.
Also please support the new list coordinator here -- Remember that
without us writing messages to the list, there IS NO LIST!!!
The ARCHIVES for the IN-Perry-L list is located at:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/INPERRY/
You can also do SEARCHES for your surnames on this list by just going
to:
http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/?list=INPERRY
When you put in queries through the USGenWeb Project's Perry Co, IN
website this goes into the message areas -- so while searching
remember to go into those archives at rootsweb and do searches there
too!!!

Have a marvelously successful New Year (2005) in finding your
ancestors, may each of you have good health, happiness and prosperity
for yourself and all your loved ones,
Judy M.
