If my family was one of the families there I would definitely help. It is a
fantastic idea, if others would take on the same measure for other small
locations, our ancestors could be remembered for many generations to come. I
live in Monterey, Tippecanoe Twp. If I can help you in researching let me know.
I have a very nominal fee and can give you references of those I have researched
for in the past. I wrote to tell you of the good deed you are doing. Not
solicitation. Where do you live?

County, Indiana called the Burroughs Cemetery. It is sometimes mistakenly
called the Malia cemetery.

where to find it you could drive past it a hundred times and never know.

hunk of woods and the history that resides there.

most of the stones have been broken (I am told by children who vandalizeed the
cemetery years ago) and that time has worn off many of the names.

that, as a father of 15, he has many other decendants out there. I have
contacted the Trustee of Jefferson Township, one Mrs. Better Kruger, and she
said the township has the funds to do the upkeep on the cemetery, but not the
repairs. She has given me a letter of approval to replace the stones, or place
a plaque on the property and has further agreed that a proper sign on 14 to
direct visitors would be considered if done correctly. This would have to be
approved by township and county.

interested in assisting in the project. I am not asking for any funds...just
interest. I have talked to several people about this and we think it would be
exciting to have a small memorial service at the cemetery and dedicate the new
stones or any plaques. I would like to know who to invite to this dedication
should we be able to bring this project to completion.
