I am searching for information on this man who may be my
GGGrandfather. He was born in Putnam County in 1827, married in 1846
(wife unknown). He joined Mo Parson's Regiment during the civil war and
escaped from Aton POW camp in Alton, Illinois. He married again in 1864,
had two sons (Frederick and Charles or Clarence) and a daughter (name
unknown). He moved to Crawford County MO in 1877, and left about 1900 for
Texas. He died in Texas in 1902, from concussion to the spine, and his
body was returned to Missouri for burial. His second wife may have been
Adaline(sp?) Edwards, purportedly a Mohawk woman who lived to be very old.

If any of this information rings a bell for you, could you post a
reply or contact me at

Thanks,

Gillian Weathers
