Subject: Eliza Jane HILL(1834-1894)mar Wm. Martin MORGAN(1833-1917Putnam Co.,IN)

Recently obtained death certificate for Eliza MORGAN which indicates her
parents were Elza/Eliza HILL(USA) and Verlinda ARP (Virginia). I do not find
any ARPs in early Indiana marriages and wondered if this was an error on the
name's spelling. Is anyone familiar with this family?

The 1830 Putnam census shows two Hill families in the time frame shortly
before Eliza Jane's birth.

HILL , Eliza with:
(1)M under 5. (1) M under 40, (1) F under 5, (3) F under 10, (1) F under 40

HILL, Thomas with:
(1) M under 10, (1) M under 50, (2) F under 10, (1) F under 15, (2) F under
20, (1) F under 40

I wondered if Eliza (the father of Eliza Jane) and Thomas were brothers. I
am projecting a birth date for Eliza as being (1830-40= 1790 to 1800 from
census time slots) about 1800 as they had oldest children under 10 in 1830.

The 1850 census for Posey twpship in Clay Co.,IN shows Dr. Jesse HILL born
about 1798 in KY. While Abel S. HILL also in 1850 Clay census appears to
have been born in NY (in the transcribe copy) about1809. Does anyone know if
Clay Co. HILLs are related to Putnam Co. HILLs?

I am also interested in the MORGAN family.

Hope to hear from someone.
Lani
