I am descended from a Jones-Summers union, but not this one. My great
grandparents were Andrew B. Jones and Medea A. Summers.

I know of five Summers which migrated to Randolph County from Frederick,
Maryland in the early 1860s. Four of the five were siblings who moved
northwest of Winchester (around Lickskillet and Mull). John Henry (my gg
grandfather), Samuel, George, and Jacob Daniel ("Uncle Danny") all lived in
that area. Their parents were John T. Summers and Mary Hart. John Henry
married Almira Ullom, Samuel married Sarah Kimmel, George married Sarah
Mull, and Jacob Daniel never married. George later moved back east to
McConnelsburg, Pennsylvania. The other three brothers are buried in Bear
Creek cemetery in New Dayton.

The fifth Summers who i have moved about 5 miles west of Winchester near
Maxville. His name was Daniel Summers who died 1/16/1919. He was somehow a
cousin of the brothers. His father was Abraham Summers. I believe that
Abraham and John T. were first cousins, but I've not found the definitive
proof yet. Daniel had a son named in his obituary named Jacob H. Summers,
but the dates do not match for the one in your listing. Daniel was married
in 1854, so his children (including Jacob) would be of the same generation.

Jacob is a very common name in my Summers line. It also leads to my
suspicion that the brothers' grandfather was a Jacob Summers, brother of
Christopher Summers who was Abraham's father. Do you have proof of another
Summers in Randolph County? Do they come from Frederick, Maryland too?
