For those who are interested, the Indiana Genealogical Society has published an index to the 1890 soldiers enrollment list for Randolph County. You can view a sample page at http://www.indgensoc.org/1890sample.html and purchasing information is at http://www.indgensoc.org/shop.html

The enrollment list was done to enumerate veterans of all previous wars (including the Civil War, the Mexican-American War and the War of 1812) who were living in Randolph County in 1890. The Indiana Genealogical Society’s index includes the veteran's rank, company, regiment, state and type of service, and if deceased, the date and place of their death, as well as the names of their widows and orphans (if given).

The Indiana State Archives has the originals of the enrollment lists (they have also been microfilmed)—these lists contain even more information, including the injuries and diseases the veteran sustained while in service.
