I am descended from Ephraim Wilson's daughter, Amy, born 23 Feb. 1781 in Fallowfield, Washington Co., PA. She married Joseph Sparks on 19 Jan. 1798 in Bourbon Co., KY. ( marriage bond was signed by Ephriam Wilson). This marriage bond differs from the Bourbon Co. marriage record which records the date of her marriage as 19 Jan. 1797 and her first name as Anne. However, the marriage bond is the original record, signed by both Joseph Sparks and Ephraim Wilson. The information was then incorrectly copied into the Bourbon Co.,marriage records.Amy Wilson Sparks and Joseph Sparks had seven children and she died ca. 1839 in Lewis Co., KY. Another interesting note: Ephraim Wilson gave his consent on October 19, 1805 in a Bourbon County court document for his daughter, Rebecca Wilson, to marry Caleb Sparks, she being under the legal age to marry unless a parent consented in writing to the county court. Caleb Sparks, according to an apprenticeship document for him following the early !
death of his father, was born on Dec. 3, 1786. According to the " Sparks Quarterly" Vol. XLVII, NO. 4, page 5263, he was a son of William Sparks, Jr. who was a brother of Joseph Sparks who married Amy Wilson.
Does anyone know any additional information about Ephraim Wilson and Catherine Krebs Wilson, his wife?
