In 1834 she, with her husband and one child came to Indiana, locating in Rush Co. on Ben Creek, near the Judge Hinchman farm. After five years of farm life, they moved to Greensburg, Decatur County, where her husband followed the carpender trade.
Febuary 26, 1850, her husband died leaving her with seven small children, the eldest a lad of sixteen years, the youngest a baby of six months. She has been a woman of industrieus habits, an indulgent mother, a kind neighbor and a loving friend.
Hard work has characterized her life; she endured many hard ships by striving to keep her little family togather. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1859 under the minstry of G.W. In 1860, she moved from the farm to the town of Raliegh where she lived until her death.
