Subject: [INSCOTT] Heltons in Indiana

My grandfather's baby sister was Nettie Pearl Bastian who married John
Leonard Helton of Kentucky in California. It hit the newspapers in
Santa Clara County because the bride was underage and ran away with
John Helton, a soldier. The young couple had their first child in
1918 in California and probably returned to John's native state for a
few years after than because their next two sons were born in Perry
County, Kentucky. After that they returned to Santa Clara County
where two more sons were born in California. The last two children
were born in Perry County, Kentucky, the last in 1939. Sometime after
that, John and Nettie moved to Scott County, Indiana where my cousin
Vernon visited them shortly before they died in the 1970s. A few of
the sons have died, several in Scott County, but I think all of them
in Indiana. The most recent was Forrest Helton in June. I'd love to
have obituaries of Forrest and any of his siblings who died in Scott
county or had an obituary published there. I would treasure those of
their parents too. If there are living descendants I would love
contact and perhaps pictures. I have extensive ancestry information on
Nettie.
