***SPECIAL NOTE*** Please note that I am not related to any of these people, but have run across several newspaper articles and such that my grandfather collected from the 1950's and 1960's. He was born and lived his entire life in Shelby County, Indiana, and one bunch I am going through mainly deals with Shelby County. While I am unsure of the fate of these clippings and such (would like to give to a historical or genealogical group), I thought the least I could do was post the articles that I can positively date, in case they were of any genealogical interest to anyone. Hope someone finds this information useful.
The following item is from a single page from an unidentified Newspaper from the Shelbyville and Shelby County area. There is no name or date of the newspaper in any of the margins. One entire side of the page touts the headline "Today Marks the Centennil of Charles Major's Birth" with a full page article on Charles Major and his boyood, homestead, etc. The other side of the page are several small news items, each one dated individually. The dates range from Thursday July 19, 1956 to Wednesday July 25, 1956, so this may be part of a weekly paper. I do not beleive it is the Shelbville News, but it could be. As 1956 was before I was even born, I do not recall what newspapers were being published at the time in the Shelbyville, Indiana area.
This particular item was dated Saturday July 21, 1956
