I've been reading the emails about the Stokes Co. migration to Shelby Co.
I don't have too much but my CARTER and COFFEY line came from around
Rockingham Co.. NC, which I find is near the Stokes Co which does pop up in some of
the research that I have been trying to do and ended up in Shelby Co. (Moral
Township and Brandywine) .
The migration of these families were in the 1820's.
My line goes from the WILSON back to the CARTER and COFFEY surnames. My
WILSON surname is a complete and total mystery and I have given up on finding
any of them. I have no idea as to where they were or who they were prior to
Shelby Co. Indiana, but I did find a little info on the CARTER and COFFEY line
from NC.
Wilford Carter and James S. Coffey. James S. COFFEY married the daughter of
Wilford Carter, Sarah Carter.
I didn't know if any of these surnames were familiar with any of you that are
searching that area.
