I found the Parrish Cemetery several years ago, spending most of an
afternoon looking for it after finding WPA records in the Shelbyville
Library. My ggg-grandmother, Deborah (Leach) Swinford, is buried there.
The marker says:

"Swinford, Debo (wife of J.M.)"

(John Milton Swinford, my ggg-grandfather), but I could not find the marker
again the last time I was there for the overgrowth of weeds and Yucca
plants.
I'm thinking of borrowing a weed wacker the next time I'm back in Indiana!

If I recall, don't you take the Old Columbus Road (Miller Street) south out
of Shelbyville straight to Fenns? Only an elevator and a few buildins are
left there. If you are looking for the cemetery, known as the Parrish
cemetery, go through Fenns, bear right as the road curves, and then turn
sharply back left. The cemetery is on the left side on a little hill. (My
Dad said that there used to be a church next to the cemetery.) My great
great grandfather Henry Phillips is buried there.

I believe Fenns used to be a railroad loading site.

All the maps I looked at this morning show that if you go south from
Shelbyville on Route 9, you can not turn left onto 450S, only right (going
west). Did you mean right?

Go south down St. Rd. 9 to county rd. 450 s.turn left and it looks like its
about 2 or 3 miles, you should run right into it. It's mainly a big
abandoned elevator and a
couple of houses.
