I am seeking more information on the small Amish Mennonite settlement that was established at the Starke Marshall County line. There is a short history of the settlement in J. C. Wenger's book The Mennonites in Indiana and Michigan. I would like to know if anyone has any further information on those that settled in the area around the Waldenzer Amish Mennonite church in Washington Twp. or some area history that may have clues as to why they settled around this area. My great grandfather lived in this area for several years and his brother-in-law is buried in the obscure "New Omish Mennonite Grave-yard" in West Twp. Marshall County, not far from the meetinghouse, which is no longer standing.
