I have tried to find Sherman Bolin in the census. I did find a marriage record in my IN Marriage Index, but his name was Therman Boland to Eliza Combs March 15, 1881 in Vigo County, IN. I also found two births in Vigo County for them:
Celia L. Bolin born January 16, 1886 and Cora Bolin May 23, 1884.

I found a death record for Sherman Bolin in Cook County, IL
February 17, 1929 Cert. # 6005617. If you order the death certificate it should give his parents' names.

If you can give me more information I will be glad to check further.
