Is anyone attending the work shop this weekend? The Switzerland County
Historical Society is putting it on. Milo Sutton reminded us back in July.
If you are I have this little road block, my Great Grandfather, Charles
KIENZLE. I need more information on him and his new bride Elizabeth (MUTH)
KIENZLE. I believe that they were married and set up thier first home in
Moorfield coming from Ohio. I know they came from Germany and that Charles
joined the Ohio Civil War 13th infantry for a period of 3 months in
Columbus in 1861.
I received some great information from Betty Lucas in the Switzerland
County Health department in 95.
He, Charles KIENZLE owned two plots of land,(deed) a small plot in town
(Moorfield) and a larger (farm) just out side the town border. (north)(from
the 1885 atlas) She also sent me school enumeration records for the
Moorefield school. This was double interesting as it listed the KIENZLE,
but my Grandfather Fredric Kienzle was the auditor that filled out the
papers, and had signed for if father.
My questions plus anyother thing you can find out are:
1. Marrage records?
2. What was the plot of land in the town? Looks to be the third building
south of the main cross roads on the west side of the street?
Thank you for any help in removing this block in advance.
God Bless, Bob Kienzle
